Just as we have the anxiety that wells up.
Just as we have the thoughts that flood our minds- What if this or What if that
Just as we cringe in the face of uncertainty
Fear too is afraid.
Like the seller in the market place who displays her ware and entices people with the hope of converting some to buyers, So fear hopes to do the same. would they be deceived by my tactics? would they?
Would you buy my wares? I will give them at a good price
So the voice of fear comes bringing thoughts,
Bringing suggestions
Awaiting someone to buy, once you buy, you belong to fear!
On many occasions in the past and even till date, I find myself frequenting fear’s stand, negotiating. Some days she buys me over, some days I walk away. In all these, I have come to realise that fear too is afraid, afraid that i will know the truth, the truth that fear is nothing more than False Evidence Appearing Real!
So just as it is normal for the seller to market her wares in the hope that one buys, so it is for fear to always be there, trying to hinder people from doing amazing things in life.
I will not go into details of the kinds of fear, because fear is fear.
Is it not amazing to note that each time Jesus came on the scene he said, Fear Not!
Remember Peter in Matthew 14:22-33, on that cold and windy night when he made history by walking on the water because Jesus said to him “come”. The moment he took his gaze off of Jesus, the prince of peace, and unto the wind, forgetting that whether or not there was a storm, his walking on water was defying gravity!
Peter took his gaze off of Jesus and as soon as he did that fear set in.
Sound familiar?
One of my favorite scriptures is found in Isaiah 26:3-4
“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength”
When our minds are STAYED (kept focused on) God then we will remain in peace.
Yes fear will still be lurking around, waiting for a chance to make a sale. So keep your mind Stayed…
I have also found out that when we look beyond the temporary feelings of fear and unto the bigger picture of what exactly will be the benefit of what you want to embark upon, or the people that need to get what you have etc, then you will forge ahead, just like Esther when she was afraid of appearing before the king because appearing before the king uninvited is death, and the bigger picture of the assignment she was given and the people she was to liberate, she said;
“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”
-Esther 4:16 KJV
Friend,
Fear too is afraid
Afraid that you will realise that it is not real
Afriad that you will forge ahead despite the odds
Fear too is afraid
Afraid that it will have no hold on you
Like is it not “human” to be crippled by fear?
Giving itself many fancy names so it can be more accpetable
So that we will think that fear is part and parcel of who we are
But that is not true.
Fear is afraid of YOU
So why should you be afraid of fear?
Cheers,
