Reflections…

Will I be ungrateful or will I sit now today and count my blessing?

Will I command my soul to bless the Lord?

To remember all his benefits?

King David put it well:

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”

Psalm 103:1-2

Will I look through the window into the house called memory and pull out specific trophies gotten in the year?

Will I take some time now to acknowledge the one, my source, who made it all possible?

Or will I pout and look at what I did not accomplish in 2015?

I choose to be grateful

I choose to recount his faithfulness

Because God met me where I was, in the midst of my mess

And now I am a beautiful story

Just the way after a dark storm there is sunshine,

He’s given me the garments of praise!

Only God wipes tears

Only God does the miracle of a changed life.

I choose to be thankful!

I am indeed thankful for life, love and everything in between.

For doors that closed, for doors that opened. For health, for hope, for family. I am thankful for promotions, for jobs, for friends. I say thank you also for prayers that got answered and for those that didn’t, for the long work week that did not look like they will end, and for the short, overly short weekends. Thank you for times you showed me you cared for me, just because I was discouraged. Thank you for lessons learnt and experienced garnered.

Thank you for being the God over my journey and the strength of my life.

Above all, thank you for Jesus in my heart!

For my God has done me well

“ In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”

– 1 Thessalonian 5:18 Kjv

Friend,

I challenge you today to look back at your year, think on his faithfulness, and count your blessings!

What are you grateful for?

Deliberately draw up a list of things you are thankful for and let’s thank God!

See King David’s list in Psalms 103:3-5 NLT

“He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.

He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.

He fills my life with good things.

My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!”

What is on your list?

happy writing!

cheers
