“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints”
– Jude 1:3 KJV
It is so easy to get into the “ordinariness of life” and be cumbered by the weightiness of it. It is so easy to get into the busyness of life, having goals and shooting for the stars, which is good, do not get me wrong, but too often we are super pumped and work so hard, setting goals for various aspects but our spiritual lives.
When the words came to my heart, I repented! contend! fight for!, actively pursue the faith you got at salvation. Why? because if we are not INTENTIONAL about our spiritual lives and growth, we will not grow. We will lose steam, we will become ordinary, we will begin to look to the world for life, we will begin to look to the world for validation, we will begin to look to the world for the image of the person we ought to become. Instead of looking into the word of God.
There is not shortcut, we cannot wish ourselves into having strong faith, it does not happen that way.
“…Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure”.
Philippians 2: 12b-13 NKJV
We have to work at it!
So friend, while you set your goals, set spiritual goals too.
while you nourish your body, nourish your spirit also.
Build, contend, fight for your faith and at every point in time, make sure you are Growing up Spiritually.
Till next time!
