My heart Speaks…

“…that I may know him…”

-Philippians 3:10

The words of Paul  apostle penned down so many years ago, yet still so fresh in my heart today.

That I may know Him…

His Face, not just his Hand

His Ways, not just his Acts

To walk with him, not just to visit when I am in distress

I seek God, and God alone

My absolute desire is for my King

Just like the psalmist said:

“One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.  For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock”

-Psalm 27: 4-5 (NKJV)

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God”

-Psalm 42; 1 (NKJV)

My heart yearns

It cries out for my king

That God be closer to me than my very breath

As He breathes in, I breathe out

That I follow Him in the breaths of my life

Following him day by day

Living in the precision of His will

And my desires, lost in His.

Oh!

No one should dare deter me!

For I know this pursuit is real

That the person of my king be engraved on my heart!

My heart chases hard after you my Lord.

“That I may know you”

This is the beat in the rhythm to which my heart dances.

Dear Friend,

God is not far, and he longs to have a close friendship with you throughout your life. Draw near to him and he will draw near to you (James 4:8)

Cheers.
