Love God, where necessary, use words!

fullsizerender

Just the other day, this title dropped in my heart when i was chatting with a friend of mine as he told me of his resolution to do all he could to attend mid-week services in church. He said”

“I just resolved this year that i will not only put God first with my words but also with my actions”

Even Scripture says it like this:

“These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And[a] honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me”

-Matthew 15:8 NKJV

Therefore the Lord said:

“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men”-Isaiah 29:13 NKJV

okay okay! you may be saying but my heart is in God oh!

But then I ask you CAN YOUR LOVE FOR GOD BE SEEN? is it obvious? not just to you, but to everyone around you. Or do you merely PROFESS a love for God that has no fruit.

Do your Actions, inaction, Posturing, demeanor, choices all reflect that love? OR what else is the yardstick of measurement?

It is definately not just your words, are there corresponding actions? Or how can we tell?

Even John 3:16 shows us

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”

LOVE has corresponding Action…

Now we are talking about Love for God, next time we will talk about love for others.

here are a few ways, the list is not exhaustive:

  1. You always want to spend time with God.
  2. He’s your waking thoughts and sleeping one too
  3. Your priority is pleasing God
  4. Before making decisions, you talk it over with God, FIRST
  5. You go out of your way to always please him and obey him
  6. You take kingdom SERIOUSLY
  7. It shows oooo

Let me stop here…

So friend, LOVE God and where necessary, USE WORDS

Cheers,

Morenike Vincent.
