What’s in your Hand?

The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. Exodus 4:2 NIV

moses

God had an agenda of delivering his children the Israelites from 430 years of captivity, he called on Moses. Moses said “Lord they would not believe me”. Me? How?

God did not look to inventing a new devise used for deliverance, he did not turn Moses into something else may be a superhero or something. God asked Moses, “What is in your hand right now at this moment?” he was going to use what Moses had with him to accomplish great things.

So here is my question to you today friend, what do you have in your hand right now at this moment? Where are you now in your life’s journey, on the way to your desired dream? What job? What school?

God wants to use where you are right now to achieve great things.

Friend,

I am totally an advocate of dreaming big and gunning for your dreams, following your passion. Doing what you absolutely love…oh Yes! Totally.

But now I ask where are you now? Are you in a job that just does not add up? Or you are doing a course in school that is so beside the point?!

I totally get that. I have also been there.

Ecclesiastes 9:10a says  “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might”

So where are you now? What has your hand found to do?

Do with ALL your Heart/Might. This is the Test of FAITHFULNESS.

fits in

It may be hard

It may be annoying

It may be so far from where you want to be.

But ask yourself, am I giving my Best? If this were my thing, my vision, my dream, will I treat it this way?

I remember some years back, I was working at an office where I sort of felt discriminated at, like I had junior staff yet I was sent to do some annoying tasks! On one occasion, I was sent to do a task and my junior was sitting, in fact, she was called to do the task, but she spoke to my boss and the task was passed to me. How annoying!

I got angry, I slammed doors as I passed, grumbling and complaining, oh men was I angry! Then a thought came to mind “if it were God asking you to do this task, will you act this way and be this angry?” And I replied, that is why it is not God asking me to do the task. The thought came again “if it were God asking you to do this task, will you be this angry?” and then I said No, honestly I would not.  Then a scripture came to mind

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters”- Colossians 3:23

And then I smiled and carried out my task joyfully. I did not ask my bosses what went through their minds when I walked in all smiles, doing the work and asking if there was anything else to be done. I was doing it as unto the Lord and that made all the difference for me.

Friend, there is a test of faithfulness that we all go through in our journeys, we must pass it.

So even though it is tough right now, be found faithful.

Even if you wake up wondering how it all connects, still give your absolute best.

There are things right where you are that you are to learn in your life’s journey, learn them. Do not truncate your process! Learn all you are to, after all no knowledge is lost. Instead of griping and complaining, ask God what he will have you learn and help you to be found faithful right where you are.

Continue to stay faithful, bearing in mind that there is a bigger purpose to you, there are bigger dreams within you that will soon find expression. But you have to be found Faithful.

So what do you have in your hands right now?

How can you give your best to what you have now?

Work like that is all you will ever do, knowing that God rewards faithfulness and soon, he will give you your own.

cheers!

Live inspired.
